Overview of new 2023 Genesis Electrified G80
Luxury automaker Genesis will release an electric version of its G80 sedan called the Electrified G80 for model year 2023. The name may be boring, but the car is not. That’s because its electrified G80 is practically indistinguishable from the petrol model. Instead of its usual G80’s turbocharged four-cylinder and twin-turbo V-6 engine, the Electrified G80 features a dual electric motor setup suitable for 365 ponies.
An 87.2kWh battery pack is embedded in the car’s floorpan and is said to offer up to 282 miles of range on a single charge. Unfortunately, front and rear headroom is compromised slightly by the addition of the battery, which also reduces boot space by two cubic feet.
Despite these minor shortcomings, the electrified G80 is an attractive package, runs much like the petrol model, has an equally appealing interior and offers a competitive range.
New for 2023
The Electrified G80 is not only an all-new model in the 2023 Genesis range, it sits alongside the new small EV SUV GV60, another foray into the brand’s electrified vehicles.
