Chinese automaker Nio has transformed its EL7 midsize SUV into a coupe, much like the 2020 ES6. The new electric SUV coupe called Nio EC7 is a higher model of EC6.

The Nio EC7 is the same as the EL7 up front, but with smart ADB multi-beam headlights that can project patterns and animations.

The EC7 comes standard with dual-chamber suspension. Braking power comes from ventilated disc brakes with 380mm perforated ventilated disc brakes. The front brakes are fitted with high-performance Brembo 6-piston calipers. If the driver presses the brake pedal at 100 km/h (62 mph), the EC7 comes to a stop at a distance of 33.9 meters. Nio EC7 starts at 488,000 CNY (70,739 USD) in China. Nio has showcased its EC7 in the domestic market at the 2022 Guangzhou Motor Show (30 Dec 2022 – 8 Jan 2023) and is expected to start delivering to customers in May 2023. The company may launch a new electric SUV coupe in Europe in the second half of this year.
